 The Gift & Take is a set of five drawers on Edna Lu the Teabus that anyone can put in and anyone can take out of. One might think of it as a community bank or free store. Each drawer has fun treasures that previous tea guests put in for future strangers to take out. Two drawers have gifts, while one has money, one has tinctures and salves, and another has Share Cards. |

| The Gift & Take is powerful and fun for many reasons. The most obvious is for the fact that when one comes to the tea bus not only can they get free tea, but they can get free money as well. This helps people reconsider the foundations of money (that we should act always out of self interest and protect our money at all costs). It also provides an outlet for people who feel the generosity of free tea and want to Pay it Forward. | |||
The Gift & Take represents a philosophy that the tea bus holds dear: That it is perfectly acceptable to share with people (and even strangers) simply because you want to see them succeed, and not because you are trying to maximize profit.
